I am an Ivorian Photographer based in Ottawa, Canada. I could define myself more as an Ivorian Portrait Photographer, but I also do Landscape and Street Photography.
Ivorian Photographer; what it means in my case
Although I have spent more than half of my life outside my country, all my work is drawn from the image of the Ivory Coast that I carry in my subconscious. The perception of light and shadows, colors, and monochromes comes directly from the sacrifice for beauty in the Dida country. Wherever I travel, I seek the « Nanou, » which is the perfect alchemy of inner and outer beauty. To be beautiful, one must first be beautiful at heart. It is thus my encounter with this beauty that I seek to immortalize with the click of my camera. In fact, beauty and goodness are the two faces of the same aesthetic Janus. They are feminine and go hand in hand with the Bagnon (the handsome man) and the Bahonon (the beautiful woman). For one without the other is but a crippled measure. And the eye is the mirror of this treasure, as revealed by the Bible in Job 22:29.
